1914, T. R. Skinner House

Contact Information
Detailed Information
TR Skinner was a local butcher in Gonzales. He was married to his wife, Susan, and together they had two sons and a daughter. Tragically, they lost both sons at an early age. When their grandson was still alive, he participated as a docent for the TR Skinner home during a Winterfest Homes Tour.
The TR Skinner home is a classic example of a Queen Anne cottage.  Built circa 1914, this home was in major disrepair by 2000.  After purchasing this home, a major restoration began. A new roof was installed, walls were repaired, the kitchen was renovated, sleeping porches were converted, along with many other upgrades.  The owners made sure to keep and repair the original bead board walls, ceilings, and long leaf pine floorboards.
