The Saint James Bed and Breakfast has an abundance of history. When you first arrive at the mansion you will notice that the front and sides of the property are lined with Crepe Myrtles. The front yard has two Majestic oak trees that are over 100 years old. The Mansion was designed by renowned architect Henry Phelps of San Antonio for the W.H. Kokernot family in 1914. The 25 room mansion is 8,500 square feet of living space and has 9 working fireplaces. Guests can enjoy the Living Room, Dining Room, Reception Room and enjoy sitting outside on the expansive front porch. The Historic town of Gonzales is where the first shot of the Texas revolution took place, home of the Immortal 32 and the famous “Come and take it” cannon.
