Formed in the ’80s, the band features Danny Shirley (vocals/guitar), Michael Lamb (lead guitar), Gates Nichols (steel guitar), Chris McDaniel (keyboards), Wayne Secrest (bass), and Mark Dufresne (drums). They honed their skills on Atlanta’s bar scene and became a house band at Miss Kitty’s, also backing .

Their debut album in 1992 boasted hits like “She Took It Like a Man,” “Jesus and Mama,” and “Queen of Memphis.” “Trashy Women,” “When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back,” and “She Never Cried” solidified their success.

Confederate Railroad’s journey continued with hits like “Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind” and “Elvis and Andy.” The era brought changes and new hits like “That’s What Brothers Do” and “She Treats Her Body Like a Temple.”

The energy remained, with covers on “Cheap Thrills” (2007) and the concert album “Live: Back to the Barroom.” “Lucky to Be Alive” (2016) marked their triumphant return. Join us on Saturday at 7 p.m. for a legendary performance by Confederate Railroad.
